Bar Pipe Farms is a registered Horned Hereford cattle ranch situated south west of Calgary in the Rocky Mountain foothills.

The cattle industry has undergone dramatic changes and to fit with these times we have introduced major changes to our Hereford breeding operation. The first change we implemented is to move back to a more traditional way of managing the cattle. We are now calving in April and May on pasture, and are now extensively winter grazing. Hereford cattle flourish under these conditions and the industry needs to exploit this. We have also turned over our herd bull battery to bring in new bloodlines to stamp the next generation.

The last piece of the puzzle is that we have increased the genetic base of the herd with the purchase of over 100 Kallal Horned Hereford cows. Along with the cows, we were very fortunate to have Doug and Judy Finseth join the Bar Pipe team. They are long time Hereford breeders and bring a common commitment to servicing our customers and leading the change in the Hereford industry.
