Yarram Extra 57U M629
was the most widely used sire in the 1994 Hereford Quality
Beef Genetics progeny test program. The bull was a Link Sire
in 1995 and will be again in 1996. Yarram Extra has been a
Link Sire for the Australian Hereford Society since 1995 for
Carcass Data, and more recently in 1998 & 1999 for meat
tenderness and marbling. This will be a first for Australian
Herefords following the trial work based at the University
of New England, CSIRO, NSW Agriculture and QDPI.

combination of both Australian and New Zealand Hereford
and Poll Hereford performances.
- M629 is in the top 5% of
the Hereford Breed FOR ALL MILK, GROWTH AND CARCASS TRAITS,
and is in the top 1% for Carcass Data.
